IODE Ottawa Municipal Chapter submitted an Application for Charter on October 1, 1918. The Charter was granted on October 25, 1918. "The Love of Country is Our Guide" is the motto.
Membership in IODE Ottawa Municipal Chapter is automatic with a membership in one of the IODE Primary Chapters under its jurisdiction. The IODE Ottawa Municipal Chapter Executive is comprised of members from the three Primary Chapters in Ottawa. The Executive meets on a once monthly basis (January-May; September-November) and meetings are open to all Ottawa IODE members.
